Good morning, my dear friends, and welcome! I’ve been meaning to reorganise my website for quite some time, yet never seemed to get round to it. It’s been a difficult year, and many things were left on the back burner. But in the end I managed to gather up all my belongings (books and quills and stashes of paper, gowns and hat boxes, pots, pans and the kitchen sink) and brought them here, at www.joanastarnes.com.
My older domain (joanastarnes.co.uk) has been redirected here, and I’m hoping to do something about the old site at some point, so that everything I posted there over the years wouldn’t vanish into thin air.
I’m still trying to find my way around this new place, which seems full of perplexing mysteries. There are countless cupboards and cubicles, and a maze of long, winding passages. (In modern parlance, at Jane Austen Variations I’m still choosing to work with the WordPress Classic Editor because it’s nice and cosy and I’m used to it, but here the drive seems to be towards the Block Editor, and as for picking my way through that, oh my! Sometimes it does my head in!)
But never mind that now. Come into the parlour, take a seat and have a cup of tea and a virtual scone, then have a look around and maybe help me unpack :)).
I hope you’ll find my quills, my inkwell and all the writing things. I have no notion where they might be – have not laid eyes on them in a really long time. Still, I hope they’re in here somewhere.
